In partnership with Luxgears, we put the Mazda 6e through its paces. Mazda is entering the all-electric era with the Mazda 6e, a refined saloon unveiled at the brand’s European headquarters in Leverkusen. The manufacturer’s first 100% electric model, the 6e impresses with its elegant design, high-end interior combining leather and Alcantara, and a smooth driving experience thanks to its rear-wheel drive architecture.

Comfort is guaranteed, with firm but well-designed seats, balanced suspension and light, responsive steering. Priced at €41,500 in Luxembourg, this model is one of the most competitive in its segment.

But it’s not all perfect: the fully touchscreen multimedia system is complex and unintuitive, with faulty voice recognition and frustrating Android Auto integration. The lack of adjustable regenerative braking also limits fuel efficiency and driving comfort.

Despite a few ergonomic flaws and an interface that needs work, the Mazda 6e shows great potential. If the brand manages to iron out these issues, it could well establish itself as a benchmark in the electric saloon segment.
