In many places in the country, manhole covers pose a serious problem for road safety. Places like Alzingen, Hesperange, Frisange, Hellingen, Bettembourg and Mamer have set records in this regard. In fact, the manhole covers there are often well below the level of the road, sometimes 10 to 15 centimetres, as precise measurements have shown.
This situation is not only unpleasant for drivers, but also poses a potential danger. Vehicles can be damaged and drivers have to be particularly attentive to avoid these unexpected obstacles.
It is important to note that a specialised company, recognisable by its green and yellow vehicles, has the expertise required to raise these manhole covers back to road level. Their intervention would make it possible to solve this problem efficiently and permanently.
It is therefore crucial that the road administration take swift action to remedy the situation. The safety and driving comfort of road users depend on it. In the meantime, motorists must continue to be careful and report any irregularities to the relevant authorities.
